Wire we buy
Low-voltage work leaves cartons: 1,000-foot boxes of data cable opened for one run, partial boxes of fire alarm cable, spools of thermostat and speaker wire. Boxed and labelled, these lots are easy to quote.

01Overview
Low-voltage and communication cable covers fire alarm cable rated for plenum or riser installation, twisted-pair data cable, coaxial cable, thermostat and control wire, speaker and security cable. It is usually copper and usually light, which makes it easy to store and easy to forget.
Because it is sold in 500-foot and 1,000-foot boxes, partial boxes are the norm. A box that has had 300 feet pulled out still holds 700 feet and still has value if the label and the remaining footage are known.

03Details
We buy copper low-voltage and communication cable. We are not the buyer for fiber-optic cable, and we do not buy alarm panels, cameras, access-control hardware or other low-voltage equipment — only the cable itself. Keeping the offer that narrow is deliberate.
Box labels carry the part number, footage and rating (for example FPLR or CMP). Photograph the label and, where the box has a printed counter, the counter. If the footage is unknown, estimate it and say it is an estimate.
Plenum-rated cable is worth more than riser or general-purpose cable because it is used in air-handling spaces. Note the rating from the print; it is one of the few things that reliably changes the value of a boxed lot.
04Questions
Yes, when the label is readable and the remaining footage can be estimated. Large lots of mixed data cable are more attractive than a single partial box.
It can be, and it is often worth listing separately because the ratings and buyers differ. Sending them as one clearly described lot is fine too.
05Request a quote
Tell us the size, metal, voltage and footage, and attach photos of the tags. If something is unknown, leave it blank and describe it in the notes.
Send the reel details and photos. We will tell you what the lot is worth and how a pickup would work.
