Getting a quote

How do I get a quote for surplus wire?

Use the quote form to describe the material and attach photos of the reel tags, jacket legends and the reels themselves. If you prefer, call +1 (614) 715-3047 or email saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com with the same information.

How long does a quote take?

Most lots with readable tags and clear photos get a response within one to two business days. Lots with missing information, multiple sites or unusual constructions take longer, and we will tell you what we are waiting on.

What does a quote cost?

Nothing. There is no charge for submitting details, for a review, or for a quote. You are not committed to anything until you accept a quote and a pickup plan.

Do you buy from individuals or only businesses?

Most of what we buy comes from businesses, contractors, plants and farms, because that is where usable surplus wire in quantity usually is. If you are an individual with a substantial lot of identifiable wire, send it anyway and we will tell you whether it fits.

Wire types and condition

What wire types do you buy?

Copper and aluminum building wire including THHN, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW and XHHW-2; bare and insulated copper and grounding wire; MC, AC, tray cable, VFD cable, TC/TC-ER, PLTC, SER, SEU, URD and USE-2; SOOW and flexible cable; control, instrumentation and communication cable; fire alarm and low-voltage cable; and medium and high voltage cable from 5kV through 69kV and above.

Do you buy used wire?

Sometimes, if it was removed cleanly, the jacket is intact and it is declared as used. Used and pulled wire is priced as used. Describing it as new surplus is the fastest way to end a conversation badly.

Do you buy damaged or weathered cable?

It depends on the damage and the rest of the lot. Sun-checked jackets, crushed reels and water ingress all reduce value, sometimes to the point where a lot is not workable. Describe the damage honestly and send a photo; we would rather see it than discover it at pickup.

What is the smallest lot you will quote?

There is no formal minimum, but travel decides. A single partial reel in a distant town usually costs more to collect than it is worth, and we will say so. Small lots often make sense when they are combined with others nearby.

Do you buy fiber optic cable?

No. We buy copper and aluminum electrical wire and cable. Fiber-optic cable and finished low-voltage equipment are outside what we do.

Photos and information

What photos should I send?

At least three: the reel tag or spool label square on, the printed jacket legend in focus, and a photo of the whole reel or pallet. Add a photo of the storage area if the material is outdoors or in a difficult space.

What if the reel tag is missing?

Photograph the printed legend along the jacket. If both are gone, tell us the size and type as best you know it and expect the lot to be treated as unidentified, which affects the quote.

How many photos can I upload?

Up to eight files per submission, 8 MB each and 25 MB total, in JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP or PDF. If you have more, submit the form and mention that additional photos exist; we will ask for them.

Do I need to measure the footage?

No. If the tag is readable, that is enough. If it is not, an estimate plus the reel size helps, and we may ask you to measure the coil diameter.

Pickup, shipping and payment

Do you pick up, or do I ship?

Either. Pickup at your Wyoming site is usual for larger lots. For smaller quantities, freight or a combined route through nearby towns is often better for both sides.

Who loads the material?

That is agreed per lot. If you have a dock and forklift, loading is usually quick. If the material is ground level with no equipment, we plan for that before scheduling.

Can you handle very heavy reels?

Yes, with planning. Large medium-voltage reels can weigh several thousand pounds and may need a crane or a specialized trailer. Send the reel sizes and weights, and describe site access.

How does payment work?

Payment terms are agreed as part of the quote, before anything moves. We do not ask for payment from sellers, and we do not request access to a site before an agreement exists.

About us

Do you have an office in my city?

No. We buy wire statewide from Wyoming businesses and travel or arrange freight to collect it. We deliberately do not claim branch offices we do not have.

Do you buy anything besides wire and cable?

No. Not transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, vehicles or general scrap.

Can I visit or call before sending photos?

Yes. Call +1 (614) 715-3047 or email saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com. Photos still make the conversation faster, but a call is a perfectly good place to start.

02Next step

Still have a question about a specific lot?

Send the details through the quote form and ask your question in the description field. That keeps the photos and the question together, which makes it much easier to answer properly.

Or call +1 (614) 715-3047 and email saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com. We answer both.

Send the wire details and photos

Tell us what the wire is, where it sits in Wyoming and how it is packaged. Photos of the reel tag or jacket legend let us read the material exactly instead of guessing.
